Some of the things we're doing, thinking and flying
Exploring Minnesota /// Flying The Famous North Shore
/This past fall when the nation's colors were at an all time best, we had the opportunity to film for a few projects that brought us to Minnesota's famous North Shore. If you haven't been, we suggest you make the majestic trek. The views are jaw dropping and the colors in the fall are like never before. We are beyond thankful to be able to fly in one of the North Star state's prettiest locations.
From Duluth to Grand Portage, the North Shore has breath taking vistas around every corner. Mind boggling cliffs stand tall over North America's largest fresh water body, Lake Superior.
Lake Superior offers quite the view. At some vistas you are able to see Wisconsin, but for most of the North Shore, it's as though beautiful Minnesota has it's own ocean. The body of water has carved out the granite along the north shore creating amazing hiking trails for tourism. It offers cliffs and rocks that you can't find anywhere else. The hills and vantage points are remarkable. Lake Superior has a surface area comparable to the state of Maine approx. 31,700 square miles. Lake Superior holds roughly 3 quadrillion gallons of water... (let that sink in) this massive body of water is fed by over 200 rivers and it is the coldest and deepest of all the Great Lakes.
We were blessed with great views, colors, and some amazing weather on our 3 day journey up the North Shore. We put together a little North Shore Reel to share our adventure with all of you.
SOUNDSET 2014
/In May we shot Soundset 2014, the biggest (& best) indie rap music festival the Midwest has ever hosted. The festival's 7th year drew huge crowds, and what better way to cover the multi-stage events and big ticket names than with Aerial cinematography? (skip to the highlight reel after the jump!)
In the truck the energy was as high as the crowd's, and over a dozen crew members crammed themselves - and their gear - in one production trailer! Quick turn was the name of the game.
A huge THANKS to the Rhymesayers, and to Andrew Melby & Stevie Kane at 1 Light Films for bringing Aerial to this year's Soundset!
